Yesterday, the strawberries looked too good to resist, which made me think of other things too good to resist, namely, strawberry shortcake. Taking the path of least resistance, I grabbed a boxed cake mix and some whipped cream (and the other items for which I had actually made the trip to the store).
Today, as it rained outside, we took a page from my mother's book (a busy mama of three), made some cupcakes from our yellow cake mix, doused them in whipped cream and strawberries, and called it desssert.
Sometimes, the simple successes are just as sweet.
